My Climate Story

At Data Refuge and PPEH, we are building a public storybank of personal narratives about local experiences of global climate change. We want to know how YOU are sensing climate change. Watch this video to learn more about our storytelling campaign and how to submit your climate story. For more information go to datarefuge.org.

In early 2020, we set out to make the My Climate Story project accessible to language communities beyond the Anglosphere. In partnership with the Penn Language Center and Penn DoubleSpeak, we held multiple translate-a-thon events and solicited help from volunteer translators across Penn. With their assistance, we now have storytelling prompts and submission forms in fourteen languages. In addition to English, we are accepting climate stories in Arabic, Filipino, French, German, Greek, Hindi, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Kiswahili, Mandarin, Mongolian, Russian, & Spanish, and adding new languages all the time. Let us know if you can help!

Sharing Our Stories

We want to share the thematic and geographic diversity of your stories with the world! Our social media team has been illustrating highlights from the storybank and sharing them on social media using the hashtag #MyClimateStory.
