Futures Beyond Refining: Restorying an Industrial River

Bethany Wiggin

Observations made on travels to 2100 return to the present on postcards reporting on the future river’s sights, sounds, and smells–and mailed to elected officials today. Travelers have witnessed waving marsh grasses and flowers in bloom, floating homes, and water taxis. Others have experienced a submerged refinery infrastructure whose legacy pollutants permeate the future. Itineraries for trips to the river that will have become are available at Futures Beyond Refining.
